2014

The formulation of TIS Farmaceutic products is based on the bioactive principles contained in natural extracts of medicinal plants and propolis.

The extraction process is carried out in accordance with the specific characteristics of the plant material or propolis, so that the active principles contained within are preserved in the composition of the extracts and, ultimately, in the finished product.

The product formulas are, in most cases, developed using combinations of extracts with synergistic therapeutic effects, more powerful than the individual actions of each extract on its own.

The quality, effectiveness, and safety of TIS Farmaceutic products are closely linked to the plant material used, whose content of specific bioactive compounds complies with the monographs established by the European Pharmacopoeia.

Plants sourced from clean regions of Romania are used and verified in the company’s own laboratories, equipped with modern technology for identifying impurities and pesticides.

TIS Farmaceutic has established its own cultivation fields for plants such as plantain, carrots, calendula, sage, and echinacea in an unpolluted area with soils untreated with pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Propolis, a natural raw material, forms the basis for obtaining hydroalcoholic and aqueous extracts containing valuable bioactive compounds used in the formulation of products with multiple therapeutic applications.

CERATIS – glycerinated solution intended for use in the ear cavity

Abstract:
CERATIS is presented as an ear solution product designed for use in the ear cavity. The product cleans and protects the ear mucosa and maintains its normal functionality. It is a glycerinated solution preparation with moisturizing, emollient, and antiseptic properties, supporting the regeneration and healing of the tissues of the external auditory canal.

Abstract:
Pharmacotoxicological and clinical data obtained from studies regarding the use of a preparation with a high content of water-soluble propolis components (polyphenols) and multiple bioactive properties are presented. The liquid propolis extract, a bioactive intermediate of the apitherapeutic product RINOTISOL, was developed using a non-destructive technology that preserves the main chemical compounds with therapeutic effectiveness. The characterization and quantitative analysis of the bioactive compounds were performed using spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods.

Abstract:
The bioactive complex from propolis, obtained through a standardized technology, forms the basis of the medication APICRISIN-D, a topical solution recommended for the treatment of shingles.
This paper presents the data obtained to support this natural medication, with antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and mildly analgesic action, enabling its therapeutic use in the treatment of various clinical forms of infections with cutaneous and mucosal localization caused by Herpes simplex virus (HSV) types 1 and 2 and Varicella Zoster virus (VZV), in both adults and children.

Abstract:
Experimental studies regarding the antimicrobial action of certain types of bioactive propolis extracts, also used in product formulations, are presented.
The objective was to demonstrate the possible antimicrobial effects of two types of propolis extracts (aqueous propolis extract and propylene glycol propolis extract) and their subsequent use in product formulations (medicines, cosmetic products, and nutritional supplements). Based on the obtained results, studies with the natural extracts used in product formulations will be resumed. Depending on the results obtained, the study of the antimicrobial effectiveness of natural extracts will continue, both for each type of extract and for combinations of natural extracts.

Abstract:
The research and development strategy for the apiphytotherapeutic product range (medicines, cosmetic products, and nutritional supplements) focused on studying the production of bioactive extracts from medicinal plants and propolis.
Several medicinal plants were studied as potential sources of bioactive intermediates usable in pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulas; to date, standardized bioactive extracts from 20 plants have been developed.
Depending on their intended use, the extracts were obtained using proprietary technologies adapted to the proposed purpose.
So far, three types of extracts have been obtained: hydroalcoholic extracts (using ethyl alcohol in various concentrations), concentrated propylene glycol extracts, and aqueous extracts.

Abstract:
Within the preliminary study, a combination of natural extracts with potential preservative roles was proposed for later use in the formulation of cosmetic products.
The composition of the tested “natural preservative” that could be used in a topical-use solution was as follows:
– 30% aqueous propolis extract
– 2.5% propylene glycol willow extract
– 2.5% propylene glycol arnica extract
Preliminary experimental data allow us to anticipate the use of natural extracts as preservatives in TIS Farmaceutic products. The extracts used are obtained in the company’s own facility of SC TIS Farmaceutic SA, authorized by the National Medicines Agency. Natural extracts are used in medicinal products, cosmetic products, and nutritional supplements alike.

Abstract:
Within the preliminary study, the contamination of certain nutritional supplements and plant extracts with aerobic microorganisms was monitored at different time intervals. The determinations were necessary to observe whether there were significant differences between products containing synthetic preservatives and those without preservatives. In the case of plant extracts, contamination levels were also analyzed over different periods of time.
The study of the preservative properties of plant extracts will involve monitoring their effects on typical microorganisms commonly contaminating products, such as: Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus.
Preliminary experimental data allow us to anticipate the use of natural extracts as preservatives in TIS Farmaceutic products. The study is still in its preliminary phase, and based on the obtained results, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) will be established for each tested microorganism (Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger) and for each type of extract.

Abstract:
Plantain, an exceptionally valuable plant product, is a natural “reservoir” of bioactive compounds with important specific pharmacodynamic actions: healing, epithelial regenerative, restorative, and bacteriostatic.

The propylene glycol concentrated extract of plantain, obtained through a non-destructive technology, contains a high concentration of polyphenolic compounds, polysaccharides, simple sugars, and flavonoids, which provide the product with healing effects, support the regeneration of dermal tissue affected by burns and wounds of various etiologies (varicose ulcers, leg ulcers, atonic ulcers), and help stop local infections.

The principle responsible for the pharmacological action of the phytotherapeutic product, the concentrated propylene glycol extract of plantain, was selected following numerous pharmacological and clinical studies that demonstrated its therapeutic actions: healing, restorative, bacteriostatic, and anti-inflammatory, as well as indications presented in specialized literature.

The choice of the pharmaceutical form, a hydrogel for the PlantagoTIS product containing plantain extract in propylene glycol as the active principle, was made following the review of recent scientific data based on extensive phytotherapy research demonstrating the effectiveness of medicines derived from plant products. The pharmacodynamic action of phytotherapeutic products is mainly due to the active substances, but also to the synergistic or potentiating effects generated by other components present in smaller quantities within the plant extract.

Abstract:
